Nano Lopez call his faunal sculptures "Nanimals." A zoomorphic take on their earthy counterparts, Lopez integrates numbers, letters, even roadsigns, to enhance his fantastical creatures.

Though Lopez, a native of Columbia, uses symbols and objects reminiscent of his homeland and Latin America in his art, he utilizes the ancient Greek and Roman "Lost Wax" process to cast his sculptures. This extensive method allows Lopez to achieve his complex detailing and ensure a seamless finish.
